Description

The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and dependable intern to join the Marketing & Communication team. The intern will collaborate with the Marketing & Communication staff in each stage of various marketing campaigns, assisting in administrative duties, drafting messages, monitoring/ reporting on analytics and providing feedback to senior staff. He/she will also work with the Marketing & Sales Manager to create and execute strategies for subscriber acquisition, planning and retention for AIP’s flagship monthly publication, Physics Today. Our office is located within walking distance of the College Park Metro and University of Maryland.

The internship will begin in June for 30-40 hours per week during the summer and be 10 hours per week during the fall to middle of December 2018.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in undergraduate degree with preferred majors in Business, Marketing or Communication. Must have a strong work ethic with a willingness to learn; possess knowledge of social media best practices and a strong understanding of marketing principles. An excellent knowledge of MS Office and strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Preferred qualifications include: experience using email marketing systems, such as Dotmailer or Constant Contact; data entry and familiarity with marketing automation platforms (i.e., Act On); and experience with Google Analytics.  Experience with media monitoring tools, such as Meltwater is a plus.
