Description
The American Institute of Physics is seeking an enthusiastic production intern to support Executive Producer and News Director on a variety of short and long form video projects. 

Essential Functions:
The intern will also help write video scripts; identify and pitch potential story ideas for video segments. Log video footage from shoots; help schedule and setup video shoots, and assist with science accuracy and writing in video scripts. Look for, and secure, outside footage and/or images to be used in video segments. Identify and implement new ways to attract more audience reach through social media. Post videos to the Inside Science website. Update and maintain ISTV database and participate in pre-screen interviews with experts.

This internship is ideal for undergraduate or graduate student journalists who are passionate about cutting-edge science and reporting, and have studied either news reporting or science. The internship is expected to last for 12 weeks during, fall or winter of 2017. Course credit for an internship requirement will be certified where applicable. Health benefits and travel expenses cannot be provided. Housing costs are not covered. Our office is located close to College Park Metro and University of Maryland, College Park. 

Qualifications:
Interest and demonstrated ability in news writing and have some experience in photography or video production. Excellent writing and communication skills; very detailed – social media experience are a plus. Please include at least one reference.
