Summary:
The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Intern. AIP is looking for a results-oriented self-starter who has the desire to learn and contribute and is also a team-player. The individual will receive hands-on-experience and be a part of a team whose duties will cover strategic planning, business analysis, management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operational improvements.
The position requires working full time during the summer of 2020 from May/June through August (Exact summer start/end flexible and can work around academic your calendar). Based upon satisfactory completion of the summer internship, AIP will extend a flexible part-time position during the academic year starting with the Fall 2020 semester and commencing at the end of the Spring 2021 semester (Underclassman have the option of returning in future years based on satisfactory performance).
Responsibilities may include
- Working in financial management systems (Oracle amongst others)
- Preparing Executive Board materials
- Working independently with cross-departmental colleagues to advance projects

Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline (preferred) and have a strong interest in both learning about and gaining professional experience in finance and accounting in a corporate or non-profit entity.
