The American Institute of Physics is seeking a driven and creative Marketing Associate. The successful applicant will develop growth opportunities in existing and new markets, leverage data and capitalize on business trends and opportunities to maximize Physics Today’s (PT) reader engagement and increase student's use of Grad School Shopper (GSS).


Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates and recommends creative sales and marketing channels to extend brand influence and create new reader leads that increase the overall audience data base for the assigned brands.
  • Create inbound marketing efforts, specifically content marketing, SEO and paid search, to generate sales leads, awareness and establish thought leadership and expertise in the B2B science marketing space.
  • Develop multi-channel reader-engagement campaigns using both inbound and outbound marketing strategies in concert with the editorial staff, where applicable.
  • Utilize email marketing with automation and segmentation, landing page optimization, gated content, and social campaigns to develop and execute intel-supported lead nurture efforts tied to the CRM in order to maximize conversions among readers for our various media and ad properties.
  • Run webinar operations.
  • Plan event sponsorships and/or exhibits.
  • Advise advertising clients on optimal campaigns for digital solutions according to our audience insight.
  • Other duties as assigned.


*This role is currently 100% remote and will eventually switch back to our office environment as the Institute continues to respond to the coronavirus, government mandates, and considers the best action to keep the AIP staff safe.

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Marketing, Communication, or related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in either b2b advertising, marketing, or advertising.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to gather research utilizing the Internet is required.
  • Knowledge of email marketing, google analytics, SEO, paid search.
  • Must be organized, a team player and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are desired.

Nice to have’s

  • Marketing Automation Certification.
  • Webinar operations experience.
