Summary

The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Associate Science Writer to join our Media Services team. This team creates content that enhances the awareness and media coverage of AIP journals, the AIP Member Societies, and their conferences among the national and international media.

This position will support the Media Services team in the coordination, production, dissemination of press releases and other media services products. The Associate Science Writer will manage multiple projects in a team environment. Core responsibilities include writing, editing, coordination, production, and dissemination of press releases, technical research summaries, and other media services content geared toward the physical sciences community as well as a nonscientific audience.

 

Proposal Packet Must Include: Cover letter, resume, a completed application, and 2 science writing samples. (Incomplete proposal packets will not be considered for employment)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a field of science (physics preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in writing and editing news articles about science is required.
