Summary

Medical Physics, a monthly publication from the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), is seeking an innovative and detailed-oriented Managing Editor. The managing editor plays an integral role as the position coordinates and supervises the processing of manuscripts for the journal, and actions of the Editorial team.
 

Medical Physics is a journal of global scope and reach. The journal publishes original, high impact physics, imaging science, and engineering research that advances patient diagnosis and therapy through contributions in 1) Basic science developments with high potential for clinical translation 2) Clinical applications of cutting-edge engineering and physics innovations 3) Broadly applicable and innovative clinical physics developments.

*This role is currently 100% remote and will eventually switch back to our office environment as the Association continues to respond to the coronavirus, government mandates and considers the best action to keep the AAPM staff safe.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A 4-year college degree in a science related field, familiarity with medical terminology a plus.
• Minimum of three years of editorial or publishing experience required.
• Firm understanding of electronic publishing processes.
• High-level proficiency in Mac OS X environment including Microsoft Office including expertise with Excel.
• Experience with web tools and social media.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed for the Association.
