Summary

The American Institute of Physics has an exciting job opportunity for a Financial Planning Analyst. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is analytically minded, and deadline driven. The role will be a blend of Financial Analyzing and Accounting.
 

Responsibilities include:

• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by engaging directly to ask clarifying questions, building/challenging assumptions, and entering that input into the organization's financial systems.

• Develop financial models and analyses to support business analysis and strategic planning initiatives using forecasting, budgeting toward operational improvements.

• Develop and maintain management reports and dashboards.

• Prepare Executive Board materials for presentation.

• Work with Senior Leadership to advance organizational goals.

• Develop and maintain administration of financial management systems (Oracle PBCS & Fusion among others).

• Analyze detailed financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.

• Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in product and service pricing.

• Work independently with cross-departmental colleagues to advance projects.

• Be the day-to-day lead on assigned functions/projects.

• Respect and adhere to ethical principles regarding data protection and confidentiality regarding any information obtained as part of the professional activity.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline

• 2+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis or Public Accounting

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V/H LOOKUPS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Prior Oracle (or similar) reporting experience is a major plus
