The American Institute of Physics is offering a paid part-time internship opportunity under the direction of the Accounts Payable Manager. The individual will be responsible for basic accounting tasks such as journal entry preparation, account analysis, cash receipts, and accounts payable. The successful intern will review invoices for proper coding, purchase order, approval, amount and 1099 designation; prepare data entry batch; perform reconciliation of various accounts from general ledger and will perform other duties as assigned. Our office is located within walking distance of the College Park Metro and University of Maryland.

Qualifications:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Must be flexible, organized and able to work under time constraints and deadlines. Computer and data entry experience is necessary. Basic skills using Microsoft Word and Excel needed.
