The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to be a key asset in the future growth of AIP. This individual will be leading the FP&A initiative and will spearhead the Company’s financial quarterly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, enterprise risk management and special projects. She/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making.  The direct reports to the role include a Financial Analyst and a part-time intern. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA highly preferred. 7+ years’ experience as Manager or Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. Experience in not-for-profit preferred. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Oracle or similar accounting software skills is a must. Strong leadership skills required. Ability to articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highest standards of accuracy and precision; must be highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated. Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
