Description
The American Institute of Physics, Niels Bohr Library & Archives, seeks a part-time temporary Visual Archives Project Assistant who will work with the Photo Librarian to create and update descriptive metadata of digitized collection materials from the Emilio Segrè Visual Archives and assist in the planning and creation of specialized online exhibits.

Essential Functions:
Primary duties include researching photograph metadata, entering data into Drupal-based digital collections platform, preparing and contextualizing physical and digital collection items for special exhibits, promoting the visual archives and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or previous experience required; currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in archival studies preferred. The ideal candidate should have previous experience with photograph and negative collections, familiarity with cataloging and metadata standards such as Dublin Core and LCSH, and an interest in archival outreach. Written and verbal communication skills, research and proofreading skills, and attention to detail are required. Knowledge of science is not required. 24 hrs. per week. Flexible work schedule.
