Description
The American Institute of Physics Education Division is seeking a part-time Intern who will be responsible for assisting with a variety of Sigma Pi Sigma and SPS programs.


Essential Functions:
The intern will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Education Programs and will be responsible for processing of honor society inductions, preparation and distribution of award materials and mailings, assembling materials for workshops and conferences, and sorting and organizing science outreach materials. He/she will work with staff to carryout outreach activities, make updates to program-related promotional materials, and assist with other tasks as assigned. The intern will work 15 - 20 hrs per week. Our office is located within walking distance of the College Park Metro and University of Maryland.


Qualifications:
At least two years of college completed with an interest in science, education, and/or non-profits.  Must be dependable, detail-oriented and internet-savvy with strong oral presentation and writing skills. Interest in STEM education beneficial. Experience in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Familiarity with databases preferred. Physical ability to perform lifting, assembly and disassembly of display components. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to work within a diverse team environment.
